Positive Inkers Global Design Team - June 2022

Hello there stamping friends! I’m thrilled to be blog hopping today with the Positive Inkers Global Design TeamWe are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the globe who are super-excited to share our love of creativity. I’m so happy you stopped by today!

If this is the fist time you are visiting, please let me introduce myself. My name is Anne Marie Hile and I live in San Antonio, Texas. Welcome!
Our theme for this month is: Favorite Designer Series Paper from the 2022-2023 Stampin’ Up® Annual Catalog. I’ll admit, this was tough for me. I pretty much love ALL DSP and am know to be an avid hoarder…I mean collector. But, if I have to pick a favorite, currently it would have to be the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper. This paper coordinates with the Happiness Abounds stamp set and Blossoming Happiness Dies beautifully. If you have visited me recently, I’m just a little OBSESSED with this suite of products. I promise, after this post I will take a break from it for a day or two…I’ll TRY anyway! :)

I also shared this card with my team for our monthly Mystery Stamping Event. I started out by giving them the basic measurements for the card and they could use whatever colors, stamps, etc. they wanted. (Thanks to my friend Sharon for the layout inspiration!) We put our cards together at the event, which was virtual, so both local and long distance team members could take part. It was so fun to see what everyone created using completely different products. Part of what I love about stamping is getting together with friends and sharing our creativity I just love hosting this event for my team every month and can’t wait for the next one!

*I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for my cards below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this post.
Card Measurements & Details:
  • Night of Navy Card Base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2", score on the long side at 1-3/4” and 6”
  • Melon Mambo Cardstock (front of card): 1-5/8” x 5-3/8” - left side and 2-3/8” x 5-3/8” - right side
  • Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (front of card): 1-1/2” x 5-1/4” - left side  and 2-1/4” x 5-1/4” - right side
  • Night of Navy Cardstock (front of card): 2-3/4” x 4-1/4”
  • Melon Mambo Cardstock (front of card): 2-5/8” x 5-1/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock (front of card): 2-1/2” x 4”, die-cut notebook detail on left side and add some Pool Party ink to the background using a Blending Brush
  • Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (card front): die cut two flowers and three leaves from the coordinating pattern
  • Basic White Cardstock (card front): 2-1/4” x 1/2”, stamp sentiment is Soft Suede ink and snip both ends at an angle
  • Iridescent Pearls and Fan Bakers Twine (navy)
  • Melon Mambo Cardstock (card interior): 1-5/8” x 5-3/8” - left side and 2-3/8” x 5-3/8” - right side
  • Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (card interior, different pattern from front): 1-1/2” x 5-1/4” - left side  and 2-1/4” x 5-1/4” - right side
  • Melon Mambo Cardstock (card interior): 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”
  • Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment and leaves in Soft Suede ink and color leaves with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.

Color Combo:
Here is a peek inside the card! I love the addition of a second pattern of DSP, it really “keeps the party going” from the front of the card. I stamped a coordinating sentiment and a couple of leaves colored-in with Stampin’ Blends and there you have it. A fun card with a bit of a unique opening that is perfect to showcase DSP.

I wanted to note, there are a lot of layers on this card. A LOT! This is definitely going to require some extra postage. If this makes you go “nah, that’s too much”, never fear. Just take out the Melon Mambo layers throughout the card and guess what? The card still looks great and the recipient will love it…because YOU made it!
I also created a second card with another favorite Designer Series Paper…also because I think I’m getting REALLY close to needing a "Stamping Intervention" if I make one more project with that Hues of Happiness Suite of products. Haha!

The Best Butterflies stamp set and coordinating Build A Butterfly Dies are so fun together and paired with the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper, well, you just can’t go wrong. The color combo is so fresh and fun and I can’t get enough of that awesome detail in the dies. I also colored the rhinestones with the Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends for some added color coordinated sparkle.
These little butterflies just make me smile! I love the fun detail in the die cuts and I added to additional layers of the same die cut from Vellum Cardstock to add some extra dimension and “fluttery” detail.

I actually made this card on my Facebook Live yesterday, so if you’d like to watch a video with the details on how to put the card together, you can check out the video posted above. I realize if you are subscribed to my blog via email that video might not show up, so CLICK RIGHT HERE and it will take you to my YouTube channel to watch the replay. The measurements and layout are the same on both cards. I just love how they have totally different looks based on the color combo and DSP patterns.
Here is a look inside the card. I used the Build A Butterfly Dies to create a little accent and stamped the sentiment in Starry Sky ink. This is just a fun and cheerful card to send to a friend. I hope you love it as much as I do.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! Please stop by to visit everyone on the hop and leave us a comment to say hello. We’d all love to hear from you and so appreciate you stopping by. If you are following the hop, my sweet friend Jo Blackman in the UK is your next destination. Hope you enjoy all of the beautiful projects everyone shared today!
